The Salem Wildcats rushed for 399 yards as they dismantled visiting East Alton Wood River to open the Mississippi Division of the Cahokia Conference 46-0.  Salem forced five turnovers in the win and scored touchdowns following 3 of them as they were taking a 25-0 lead at the half with the clock running the final half of the fourth quarter.  Gage Eddings recovered a fumble along with Blaine Phillips and Wyatt Jones.  Jacob Koehnke intercepted a pass and Charlie Fehrenbacher took an interception back over 50 yards to put Salem up by 40.

Caden Harris rushed 10 times for 164 yards and 2 touchdowns.  Brayden Smith finished with 121 yards on the ground and a score and Kason Sullens rushed for 68 yards and a touchdown.  Sam Greene was 5-of-10 for 76 yards and a 24 yard touchdown pass to Caden Bee.  Salem outgained the Oilers 475-133.  The Cats are 3-1 overall and 1-0 in the conference as they host another new league opponent in Roxana to Jim Finks Field next Friday.

Also in Cahokia Conference play, Breese Central nipped Freeburg 20-16, Carlyle needed double overtime to beat Red Bud 12-6, Columbia shutout Roxana 21-0, Wesclin over Dupo 47-12.
