Bobcats Dominate Large Field At Lee Evans XC Invitational

The Franklin Park Cross Country teams hosted the Lee Evans Invitational yesterday with over 22 teams competing.  The Varsity Bobcats dominated the deep field scoring 25 points; Field/Farrington was a distance runner-up with 113 points and Highland 3^rd at 148.  All 7 Salem runners were within 31 seconds of each other as Eli Baker was 2^nd (10:28) overall followed by Robby Shober 3^rd (10:31), Payton Gullion 5^th (10:46), Alex Spencer 7^th (10:50), Hunter Malan 8^th (10:51), Caleb Purintun 12 (10:58) and Avery Gullion 13 (10:59).

Olney won the varsity girls event with 72 points, Olney St Joe was 2^nd with 84 and then Salem with 101 points.  Kendall Zimmermann was 2^nd in 11:28 followed by Caitlynne Bryan 6^th (12:31) Jordan Kessler (13:13) and Ella Robinson (13:13) also medaled finishing 26^th and 27^th with Finley Puricelli 40^th (13:53).

The Bobcats won the JV boys event with 58 points, Albers/Damiansville 100 along with Olney St Joe.  Scout Puricelli won the jv race (8:58) with Will Vincent 2^nd (9:06), Nate Lowery 10^th (9:39) and Gabe Thomason was 13^th (9:43).  Jacob McIntosh finished just out of medaling at 32 (10:21).

The JV girls event went to Olney St Joe with 91 points, Olney was 2^nd 116 and Salem 3^rd with 134.  Gracie Dice was 2^nd (9:56) for Salem, Charlotte Johnson 15^th (10:53) and Nora Purcell 27^th (11:06).  Aubrey Parker came in 48^th (12:02) and Adelyn Bumgarner 57^th (12:19).
