The Franklin Park Cross Country teams hosted the Lee Evans Invitational yesterday with over 22 teams competing. The Varsity Bobcats dominated the deep field scoring 25 points; Field/Farrington was a distance runner-up with 113 points and Highland 3rd at 148. All 7 Salem runners were within 31 seconds of each other as Eli Baker was 2nd (10:28) overall followed by Robby Shober 3rd (10:31), Payton Gullion 5th (10:46), Alex Spencer 7th (10:50), Hunter Malan 8th (10:51), Caleb Purintun 12 (10:58) and Avery Gullion 13 (10:59).
Olney won the varsity girls event with 72 points, Olney St Joe was 2nd with 84 and then Salem with 101 points. Kendall Zimmermann was 2nd in 11:28 followed by Caitlynne Bryan 6th (12:31) Jordan Kessler (13:13) and Ella Robinson (13:13) also medaled finishing 26th and 27th with Finley Puricelli 40th (13:53).
The Bobcats won the JV boys event with 58 points, Albers/Damiansville 100 along with Olney St Joe. Scout Puricelli won the jv race (8:58) with Will Vincent 2nd (9:06), Nate Lowery 10th (9:39) and Gabe Thomason was 13th (9:43). Jacob McIntosh finished just out of medaling at 32 (10:21).
The JV girls event went to Olney St Joe with 91 points, Olney was 2nd 116 and Salem 3rd with 134. Gracie Dice was 2nd (9:56) for Salem, Charlotte Johnson 15th (10:53) and Nora Purcell 27th (11:06). Aubrey Parker came in 48th (12:02) and Adelyn Bumgarner 57th (12:19).
