A 41-year-old Centralia man has been released on $1,000 cash bond after being formally charged in Marion County Court Friday with aggravated fleeing and attempting to elude police and driving with a revoked license with three prior convictions.  Both charges filed against Robert Williams of Perrine Street are Class 4 felonies.

Williams is believed to have been driving a pickup truck on Tuesday night that was involved in a chase that exceeded 100 miles per hour between Odin and Wisher Road south of Patoka.   Williams successfully fled the truck into a wooded area after it crashed into trees after missing a curve on the Wisher Road.   Williams was taken into custody on Thursday morning following another brief foot chase after a resident in the area of the crash reported a man standing in her front yard.

Williams had the public defender appointed to represent him and is due back in court on September 28th for a preliminary hearing.
