Both Salem and Centralia have announced additional help for businesses to file applications for the State of Illinois' Back to Business grant program.
The B2B grant program is designed to deploy assistance to small businesses that were hit the hardest by the COVID-19 pandemic. The B2B program offers grants ranging from $5,000-$150,000 to small businesses that experienced losses in 2020 due to the pandemic and had less than $20-million in gross revenue.
The City of Salem, in coordination with the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO), is hosting a Back to Business Grant Program technical assistance opportunity on Wednesday afternoon, September 8th from 1 to 4. The workshop will be held at the Kaskaskia College Salem Extension Center, 1475 West Whittaker.
The City of Centralia has announced an additional day to take advantage of Back to Business Grant Program Assistance. It will be from one to five Friday at the Centralia Regional Library Computer Lab at 515 East Broadway in Centralia.
Attendees will have access to a computer and offered technical assistance including digitization of required documents to apply for the B2B grant. For businesses ready to apply, please bring:
- Business Owner/Representative Valid Identification (Driver’s License, State ID, Passport)
- One business bank statement from between April and December 2020, that reflects business expenses
- Most recent business bank statement (if you are a sole prop without a business bank statement, please submit statement from whichever account you conduct business transactions)
- 2019 Federal Tax Return (If you file business taxes on your individual 1040 tax return, please submit the 2019 1040 return with Schedule C included)
- 2020 Federal Tax Return (If you file business taxes on your individual 1040 tax return, please submit the 2020 1040 return with Schedule C included)
- If the above documents do not reflect business address, an official document that reflects your current business address such as a utility bill, lease, credit card statement, business license
