The Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies has taken a 41-year-old Centralia man into custody following a high-speed chase Tuesday night from Odin to Wisher Road south of Patoka.
A resident near where the pickup truck had crashed into a group of trees on a curve called the sheriff’s department Thursday morning when a man believed to be the driver showed up in her front yard. Robert Williams of South Perrine was arrested after a brief foot chase with responding deputies. He was taken to the Marion County Jail for alleged aggravated fleeing and eluding police and driving on a revoked license.
Deputies say Williams did not appear to have sustained any injuries in the crash and was not armed.
The chase started on Laury Street in Odin and then traveled US 50 to Sandoval and then US 51 to Wisher Road south of Patoka where the driver successfully took off on foot after the pickup truck crashed. A search Tuesday night failed to find the driver.
The nearby resident reported the man in her front yard at 8:22 Thursday morning.
