Centralia Police arrested a Wamac man for criminal damage to property after he allegedly kicked in the door of a home in the 1200 block of East 2nd early Sunday night. Police say Andrew Murphy of Apple Street reportedly told the occupants someone was trying to kill him. Murphy was taken to the Marion County
Jail.
Centralia Police arrested 31-year-old Nathan Watts of Centralia after he allegedly fled an early morning traffic stop. Watts, who told authorities he was homeless, allegedly failed to stop at 8th and Elm, but did eventually stop in an alleyway near the 2nd and Locust Street intersection. Watts was taken to the Marion County Jail for aggravated fleeing and eluding police.
Salem Police arrested 37-year-old Michael Lyday of Salem on an outstanding Clinton County failure to appear felony warrant with bond set at $5,000. Once at the Marion County Jail, a charge of bringing contraband into a penal institution was added after he allegedly failed to disclose he was in possession of a controlled substance.
32-year-old Eric Kirgan of West 8th in Centralia posted $500 bond and was released after being arrested by Wamac Police on a Marion County misdemeanor failure to appear in court warrant.
