Centralia Police Chief Greg Dodson says a man first fled a traffic stop and then abandoned his car and fled on foot Wednesday afternoon.
Dodson says the initial traffic stop was attempted in the northeast section of Centralia. After getting to the area near the Richmond Heights Mobile Home Park, the man reportedly got out of the vehicle and fled into a wooded area.
The Marion County canine was called to assist in a search of the area, but the man was never located.
The incident remains under investigation and so far the man who fled has not been located.
