The Christ Our Rock softball team is into the Sectional finals after their 1-0 win over Hardin Calhoun. They advance to Thursday’s finals when they play at Valmeyer. Also advancing yesterday was Casey 4-0 over Windsor, St Anthony 10-0 over Hutsonville, Marissa beat Goreville 6-3, Steeleville 15-9 winners over Crab Orchard.
In 2a, Freeburg advanced to their sectional final with a home win over Cahokia rival Breese Central 7-2. They move on to Thursday’s Sectional finals at Nashville to take on the Lady Hornets after their 13-3 win over Gillespie. Massac County beat Carterville 11-6 in five innings as the game was called with one out in the bottom of the sixth due to rain and poor field conditions. Paris nipped Tuscola 3-2.
In 3a sectional semifinals, Waterloo beat Charleston 9-2, Rochester eliminated Mt Zion 5-4. Today, Marion will host Highland in a game that was moved from yesterday because of the rain.
