In other 2a regional semifinals, Benton over Carmi 13-1, Waltonville beat Trico 10-9, Carterville 7-0 over Anna, Columbia beat Gibault 9-0, Pinckneyville needed 8 innings for their 5-4 win over DuQuoin, Greenville 13-8 over Flora, Freeburg beat Althoff 11-1, Harrisburg short-gamed Massac 10-0, Nashville 14-3 over Red Bud, Newton 3-2 over Vandalia, Pana beat New Berlin 9-1, Paris beat Hoopeston 12-2, Zeigler 10-3 over Murphysboro.
In Class 3a, Centralia had the bases loaded in the 8th inning but could not score as Herrin knocked them off 6-5. Charleston 14-4 over Jerseyville, Highland 8-7 over Civic Memorial, Mt Vernon 9-0 over Carbondale, Mt Zion shutout Southeast 2-0, Marion 3-0 over Waterloo and Triad beat Olney 9-6.
In 4a baseball regionals, Granite City 4-2 over East, West beat Alton 6-5 and O’Fallon shutout Quincy 3-0.
