The Salem 12u won their opener at the Trenton/New Baden Tournament with a 4-1 victory over Triad. Payton Gullion worked the first two innings and gave way to Aden Rostance to start the 3rd. He would work the final 4 innings not allowing a run. With the game tied at 1 in the bottom of the 3rd, Salem would plate 3 runs on a pair of home runs off the bat of Evan Barnes and Zane Dodson. Salem’s defense was great with catcher Keytin Grawe throwing out 2 would-be base stealers at 3rd. Salem also got an RBI from Rostance. The 12u Cats are back in action today finishing up pool play at 11 with Breese and 5pm with a showdown against South Central.
