UNDATED (AP) — The Vegas Golden Knights staged a late rally to avoid falling behind three-games-to-none in their Stanley Cup second-round series.

Jonathan Marchessault and Max Pacioretty scored 45 seconds apart to lift the Knights past the Colorado Avalanche, 3-2. The Avs led 2-1 until Marchessault tallied with 5:18 remaining.

William Karlsson also scored for the Golden Knights, who outshot the Avs by a 43-20 margin.

Mikko Rantanen’s power-play goal snapped a 1-1 tie 5:04 into the third period.

Game 4 is Sunday in Las Vegas.

Meanwhile, one goal was enough for the Canadiens as they defeated the Jets to take a two-games-to-one lead in their second-round series.

Tyler Toffoli provided the lone goal, beating Connor Hellebuyck for a short-handed tally 1:41 into the second period. Carey Price made the lead hold up, making 14 of his 30 saves in the third period to secure his first shutout of the postseason and eight of his career.

The Canadiens have won five in a row since falling behind three-games-to-one against the Maple Leafs in the opening round.

Game 3 is Sunday in Montreal.
