Odin Uses Long Ball In Upset Over 2nd Seed SC

The Odin Lady Eagles advance to their 1a regional championship with an upset of 2 seed South Central 18-7 in Kinmundy in five innings.  Odin used a 9-run fifth inning and 18 hits to win.  Hailey Lane had 4 hits including 2 home runs.  Trista Moore, Lauren Robb and Rheagan Rollinson each had 3 hits.  Maddie Garrett had 2 while Carmen Wilderman, Macey Spicer, Amiah Wallace each had a hit.  Wilderman was the winning pitcher.  Taeghan Webster took the loss for SC as Odin jumped out to an 8-0 lead after the first 1.5 innings.  Kayli Swift homered and drove in 2, Brooklyn Garrett homered and drove in 2.  SC finishes the season at 22-5.  Odin will travel to Windsor/Stew-Stras this afternoon for a 4:30 start.

Also in 1a regional semifinal play, Edwards County 15-5 over Grayville, Altamont shutout Beecher City 5-0, Goreville 11-0 over Carrier Mills, Christ Our Rock beat Gibault 10-1, St Anthony beat Mulberry Grove 13-0, Hutsonville over Clay City 9-3, Gallatin County nipped Wayne City 1-0, Neoga 4-3 over Oblong, Cumberland 5-0 over Martinsville and Valmeyer over Okawville 1-0.

Today in regional semifinals, Christ Our Rock hosts New Athens, Neoga at Casey, Altamont at St Anthony, Marissa hosts Edwards County and Woodlawn welcomes Gallatin County.
