The girls soccer post season opened up yesterday. In 1a, Breese Central fell to Gibault 2-1 in penalty kicks, Freeburg nipped Mater Dei 2-1, Pana 3-0 over Riverton, Carlinville over Piasa 5-4, Pinckneyville shutout Harrisburg 8-0, Stuanton 10-1 over Gillespie an Greenville shutout Wood River 3-0.
In 2a, Civic Memorial 7-0 over Charleston, Carbondale shutout Olney 9-0, Carterville beat Centralia 9-0, Marion 9-0 over Mt Vernon, Mattoon 10-2 winners over Jerseyville, Mt Zion beat Jacksonville 3-0, Triad 9-0 over Highland.
The soccer regionals continue in 3a with Belleville West hosting Granite City, Collinsville welcomes Belleville East, Edwardsville is at home with Quincy.
