The Salem Wildcats honored their seniors and then dropped a tough 3-2 decision to Okawville. The Cats led 2-1 after scoring a run in the fifth inning, only to see the Rockets answer back and take the lead with 2 runs in the sixth. Aden Susmena went 2-3 for the Cats who also got hits from Rolen Adams, Isaak Williams and Quentin Purcell. Purcell and Hunter Daniels scored the Salem runs. Brighton Lucas took the loss for the Cats scattering 9 hits and allowing 3 earned runs with 4 strikeouts.
Congratulations to Salem grad and right-hander Quentin Purcell signed to play baseball at Hannibal LaGrange earlier in the day.
The SC Cougars are 16-3 following last night’s 8-1 win over Mulberry Grove. Aiden Dodson doubled and drove in a pair of runs, Beau Jolliff added 2 RBI as well for SC. Sebastian Cowger doubled home a run and Sam Rubin also had an RBI. Brandt Hiestand was the winning pitcher going 3.1 allowing 4 hits and 1 earned run. Chase Dodson and Cowger finished up the game on the mound.
