The post season seeds have been released for prep baseball and softball. In Class 1a baseball feeding into the Carbondale Super-Sectional, South Central is the 2nd seed and will host the winner of Cisne and Red Hill on Saturday June 5th with Brownstown and Altamont playing in the other semifinal.
In 1a softball feeding into UIS in Springfield, Christ Our Rock is the top seed and will take on the winner of Metro East Lutheran and Gibault. Feeding to Johnston City, South Central is the 2 seed and will host the winner of #7 Odin and St Elmo. Nokomis and Windsor are in the other semifinal.
In 2a baseball feeding into the Carbondale Super-Sectional, Salem is the 8 seed and will host the play in game on June 2nd against Lawrenceville with the winner earning a trip to Teutopolis for semifinal play. Greenville and Flora are the other teams that will play in the 2nd semifinal.
In 2a softball feeding to Johnston City, the Salem Lady Cats are the 4th seed and will host #5 Red Bud on June 3rd. Carlyle and Wesclin are in the play-in game with the winner getting top-seed Freeburg in the other semifinal.
In 3a baseball feeding into the Millikin Super-Sectional Centralia is the 4 seed and will host Herrin on June 4th with the other semifinal featuring top seed Mascoutah and Cahokia. Mt Vernon is the 2 seed and will host Carbondale in their regional with Waterloo and Marion in the other game.
In 3a softball feeding to Mattoon, 7th seed Centralia opens at #2 Mt Vernon on June 2nd with Olney and Waterloo in the other semifinal.
