In the game of the night at the Little League Complex, Peoples National Bank needed 9 innings but came back to beat Salem Tire 4-2. It was a night for pitching on both sides. For PNB, Keaton Gullion worked the first 2 innings allowing just one run. Heydin Purcell worked the next 3 innings needing just 32 pitches, 26 strikes. He was followed up by Noah Nix for 3 innings with Gullion coming back for the 9th to get the save. Peoples scored a pair of runs in the top of the 9th after tying the game in the top of the 7th. The trio of pitchers combined to allow 6 hits and struckout 20 with just 3 walks. Aden Bass and Jalen Inlow were really good for Salem Tire on the mound as their trio of pitchers including Brady Thompson combined to strikeout 17. At the plate for the winners, Keaton Gullion laced a double and scored, Noah Nix and Purcell drove in runs along with Aaden Rostance. Caiden Beer had the RBI for Salem Tire with Jalen Inlow going 3-3 with a run scored. In all the 9 inning game only took 2 hours 10 minutes.
In boys minors, Marion County Savings Bank defeated Edward Jones 13-2. Jax Schuabert was the winning pitcher going 3 innings allowing 2 hits with 6 strikeouts. Tanner Purintun and Schuabert each had 3 hits and drove in 4 runs. Parker Lewis, Porter Lewis, Myles Donoho and Braden Hanes all had a hit.
Kert Martin State Farm beat Squibb Tank 8-4. Cooper Burkett and Colten Tockstein were good on the mound for the winners. Jayce Keller was a home run shy of the cycle and Kemper Johnson each added a hit.
In softball play, Bandy’s beat Landers 19-2. In the win, Abigail Westman finished with 5 RBI, Grayce Rose and Jayla Tabor 3 each, 2 RBI from Kenna Benjamin, Gabriela Goostree and Madelyn Horton. Gwen Goostree and Julianna Rushing added RBI.
