The Salem Recreation Department will hold its traditional Halloween Costume Contest at the Salem Community Theatre on Saturday.
Recreation Director Jed Casburn says there will be several categories.
“We’re going to do our Halloween costume contest before Trick-or-Treat,” Casburn said. “Registration will be from 5:00 to 5:25. There will be a table in the foyer to register. The contest will begin at 5:30, that’s because we want to get you out in time to have fun and Trick-or-Treat. There are four categories, we’ve got ages 3 and younger, ages 4 to 7 years old, ages 8 to 12 years old, and then we have best family.”
Trick or Treat in Salem then begins at six and continues until eight Saturday night. There will be a number of locations downtown including the Salem Fire Protection District, the Salem Theatre, in front of city, and a number of downtown businesses.
Earlier in the day, ATV’s and More will have a Trick or Trail Trunk or Treat at 1307 West Main. There will be side by sides full of candy inside the showroom as well as other Halloween fun and costumes.
