Centralia Police arrested an 18-year-old Centralia woman on multiple charges early Wednesday morning after she allegedly led them on a high-speed chase before crashing into a fire hydrant and attempting to flee on foot.
Shamira Boston of South Sycamore was arrested for aggravated fleeing and eluding police, resisting/obstructing arrest, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, having no insurance, being unlicensed, as well as on multiple traffic citations.
Centralia Police say Boston allegedly fled at a high rate of speed when they attempted to stop her car on Broadway near Sycamore. The chase continued onto West McCord and the wrong way on Noleman Street. Boston missed the road when attempting to turn onto Pine Street and crashed into a fire hydrant. Police say that disabled her car and she ran on foot. Police tazed her before being able to take her into custody.
Boston was taken to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital for treatment and was released on a notice to appear in court on the pending charges.
The chase began at 12:24 Wednesday morning.
