Mary M. Koy, of Woodlawn, Illinois, passed away at 5:40 a.m. on October 28, 2026, at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon, Illinois.
She was born in Woodlawn, Illinois to George William and Geneva (Morgan) Heilig. She married Alfred Koy on June 5, 1948, in Mt. Vernon, Illinois, and he preceded her in death on September 4, 2009.
Mary is survived by her son, Raymond Koy of Woodlawn, Illinois; grandchildren, Dawn McConnaughay and her husband Scott, John Lockwood, Margaret Lockwood, Katie Allen and her husband Ryan, Danny Koy and Casie Byerley, Steven Koy and his wife Chelsea, and Jennifer Koy; as well as several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alfred Koy; her son, Tony Koy; her daughter, Patricia Lockwood; her son-in-law, Rusty Lockwood; and her grandchild, Allen Koy.
Mary worked for 20 years at Jackson and Martin Grocery Store in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. She was a member of the Little Egypt Road Runners Camping Group and was also the 1948 Valedictorian at Woodlawn. Was also a member of Waltonville Home and Community Education. In her spare time, Mary enjoyed quilting and woodworking. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Visitation will take place on Sunday, November 1, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Hughey Funeral Home, 1314 Main Street, Mt. Vernon, IL. The funeral service will be held on Monday, November 2, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Mount Catherine Christian Church in Woodlawn, IL, with Reverend Jerry Wilson officiating. Interment will be at Mount Catherine Cemetery in Woodlawn, IL.
