A 36-year-old Centralia woman has been ordered held without bond after being charged in Marion County court with three felony offenses following an early Monday morning police chase from the eastside of Salem to Iuka.

Vanessa Wilkins was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon for having a switchblade in her possession, aggravated fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer  by disobeying two or more traffic control devices and driving with driver’s license revoked.

In denying bond, the judge also noted Wilkins had violated her probation on a previous charge by committing new crimes.

Wilkins is due back in court on November 18th for a preliminary hearing.  She indicated she would represent herself.

While the chase began at East Main and Lakewood at a high speed, Wilkins car began having mechanical issues that had slowed her vehicle to 20 miles per hour by the time she stopped in the Dollar General parking lot.
