The filing period ended Monday afternoon with two running for Mayor and four seeking the two open city council seats in the April non-partisan election in Salem.
Incumbent Mayor Nic Farley is being challenged by Rick Phillips, who is retired from the Union Pacific Railroad. Since both were at city hall for the start of filing, they will participate in a lottery at nine Friday morning to determine who will be the first on the ballot.
The four seeking the two open city council seats are incumbent Craig Morton, appointed councilmen Royce Bringwald, businessman Tracy Timmerman and United Medical Response paramedic Ashleigh Russell.
