A 47-year-old Centralia man has been ordered held without bond after being charged in Marion County Court on Monday with drug and weapons charges.
Shaun Brown of Martin Luther King Drive was charged with armed violence, possession of under five grams of methamphetamine, unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon, and resisting or obstructing arrest.
Brown allegedly fled from Centralia Police who attempted to stop him while he was riding his bike on October 23rd because he was a person of interest in a pending investigation. One of the officers completing the stop sustained a laceration to one of his thumbs when Brown allegedly resisted. He was allegedly found with a black jack in his pocket and a clear plastic bag containing a substance that field tested as methamphetamine.
Police noted Brown was already on probation for failure to register as a sex offender.
Brown had a public defender appointed to represent him and had a preliminary hearing set for November 17th.
