Kell Fire officials say all 15 students on a Kell Grade School bus escaped injury when the bus collided with a box truck at the State Route 37 and Walnut Hill Road intersection south of Kell Friday afternoon.
State Police say the bus driver, 57-year-old Keith Knight of Texico, received a citation for disobeying a stop sign. Knight and the box truck driver also escaped injury. The preliminary report provides no additional information on the crash.
Kell Fire Chief Mick McDaneld said the fire department was called to the scene and provided blankets and firefighting coats to the students to keep them warm until their parents or guardians could pick them up at the scene.
The bus had to be towed away.
The crash occurred at 2:17 Friday. The crash blocked the northbound lane until 4:07 pm.
