The SIJHSAA State baseball and softball semifinals were held at the Oasis Sports Complex in Marion on Tuesday.
Willow Grove/St Mary will play for the Class S title after their dominant win over St John’s Red Bud 19-1. Devyn Dodillet-Tomlianovich went 4-4 with a home run, Vayda Mullinex-Davis also homered and Hanleigh Schmidt added a bases loaded triple. The Wildcards banged out 21 hits in the game. Aubrey Kuder added 4 hits as well. Tomlianovich was the winning pitcher allowing no runs and no hits with Schmidt throwing an inning of relief as well.
They will play New Hope in the finals after they defeated Patoka in the other semifinal 4-2. Patoka lost despite outhitting the Lady Panthers 4-3. Mabree Phelps was good in the circle allowing 4 runs, none earned, over 6 innings striking out 5. Jessa Thalman led the Patoka offense driving in 2 runs going 2-3.
