The SIJHSAA State baseball and softball semifinals were held at the Oasis Sports Complex in Marion on Tuesday.
In Class S baseball, Patoka/Odin fell in their semifinal to St Joe Olney 9-0. St Joe used an 8 run 5th inning to put the game away. Brody Spicer went 4 inning giving up 4 runs on 5 hits with 5 strikeouts in the game. Drake Carbaugh had a hit for the Mohawks. Their season isn’t over as the Mohawks will play in the 3rd place game tomorrow at 1pm against New Simpson Hill who lost to Valmeyer 14-4.
In Class L, Central West Frankfort is in the softball finals with a 13-1 win over Harrisburg. They will take on Carterville who shutout Murphysboro 13-0.
In Class L baseball, Carterville beat Millstadt 2-1 and advance to play DuQuoin after their 17-0 win over Wesclin.
In Class M Softball, Anna beat Nashville 7-0 and Steeleville over Woodlawn 13-0. In Class M baseball, Smithton nipped Goreville 4-3 and Okawville in a tight one over Pinckneyville 3-2.
