An electrical fire damaged a home in Dix Friday morning.
Jefferson Fire reports smoke was showing from the attic of the home owned by Angela Wilson and occupied by Aaron Wilson at 412 North Jackson when they arrived on the scene.
The fire was confined to the attic, but crews had to pull down the ceiling in one and a half rooms to reach it. While there was no fire or smoke damage to the living area of the home, there was water damage and debris from the fallen ceiling.
The fire is believed to be electrical in nature.
The fire call came in around six Friday morning, with firemen on the scene for about an hour and a half.
Jefferson Fire called Mt. Vernon City, Centralia Fire Protection District, Woodlawn, and Kell firemen for mutual aid on the scene, while Wayne City and Benton stood by at the Jefferson Fire Station in the event of another fire.
