Jimmie T. Peeples , 90, of Mount Vernon, IL, passed away at 3:30 pm August 10, 2026 at Green Tree Memory Care in Mt. Vernon, IL. He was born August 20, 1935 in Mt Vernon, IL to Everett E. Peeples and Madelyn (Dye Vonderheid) Peeples. Jimmie married Nancy (Williams) Peeples in Mt. Vernon, IL and she proceeds him death.
Jimmie is survived by his Sons, Steven N. Peeples and wife, Patti of Mount Vernon and Scott A. Peeples and wife, Beth of Fults, Illinois; Grandchildren, Lucas Peeples and wife, Brittany, Alexandria McManus and husband Paul, Gary Peeples and wife, Rachel, Jared Warren, Amanda Barnett and husband, Jeff, and Nick Warren and wife, Amy; Great-grandchildren, Penelope Peeples, Heidi Peeples, Louise McManus, Howard Peeples, James Peeples, Ashtyn Warren, Aryka Warren, and Spencer Barnett; Brother, Jerry Peeples and wife, Rhonda of Keenes, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.
Jimmie was preceded in death by his Wife and Parents.
Jimmie worked as a Plant Engineer for Rend Lake College in Operations for over 23 years. He proudly served his county in the United States Army. He loved to spend time with his family and was a faithful member of Logan Street Baptist Church.
A Visitation will be held Sunday, August 16, 2026 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, IL. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm with Mr. Marty Mills officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, IL. Military Rights will be conducted by American Legion Post # 141. Memorials may be made in Jimmie’s honor to Rend Lake College Foundation
