The City of Centralia and the Centralia American Legion invite the public to attend the burial of a time capsule, commemorating the nation’s 250th anniversary. The ceremony will take place on Friday, July 10, at 1:00 p.m. at the south entrance of Fairview Park, where the time capsule will be buried.
Organized by the Centralia American Legion, the time capsule will preserve items that reflect the history and spirit of the Centralia community for future generations and is planned to be opened in 25 years. The burial marks a local contribution to the nationwide celebration of America’s Semiquincentennial and community members are encouraged to attend this to be part of a historic milestone.
