The Centralia Philharmonic Orchestra is sponsoring a summer workshop for string instrument players the week of July 20-24 at the Community Arts Center located at 1250 E. Rexford Avenue in Centralia.
Activities are designed to be an introduction for beginners, a refresher for prior players and a great experience for all ages. Instruction will be provided for violin, viola, cello and bass from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. daily. Instruments will be provided for the week, if needed. The clinic fee is $45 per day or $180 for the entire week with a limited number of scholarships available.
Clinic instructors are Philip Tinge and Michael Trinklein. Tinge is the Centralia Philharmonic Orchestra’s Concertmaster, a position he also holds with the Belleville Philharmonic. Trinklein began playing cello at the age of nine and has now performed in places like Taiwan and South Korea.
