UNDATED (AP) — The Athletics have won a matchup of AL division leaders.
 
Chris Bassitt struck out a season-high 10 over seven innings of their 3-2 victory in Boston. The game was tied, 1-1 until Matt Chapman and Elvis Andrus poked RBI singles for the A’s in the seventh.
 
Rafael Devers homered for the Red Sox, who have lost two straight since winning four in a row.
 
In other major league action:
 
— The Yankees beat Tampa Bay for just the second time in seven games this season as Aaron Judge and Gary Sánchez homered in a 3-1 decision over the Rays. Jordan Montgomery gave up one run, two hits, walked one and tied a career high with nine strikeouts.
 
— José Abreu smacked a tiebreaking two-run homer in the sixth inning of the White Sox’ fourth win in a row, 9-3 over the Twins. Yasmani Grandal lofted a three-run homer in the second for the AL West leaders.
 
— The Tigers coughed up a 7-0 lead before Robbie Grossman singled home the winning run in the bottom of the ninth to give Detroit an 8-7 win against the Twins. Grossman’s career-high fifth RBI sent the Royals to their ninth straight loss.
 
— Yuli Gurriel smacked a two-run homer while the Astros scored four times in the eighth inning to beat the Angels, 5-1. Houston broke out after Shohei Ohtani held the Astros to one run and four hits with 10 strikeouts over seven innings.
 
— Shane Bieber pitched out of some early trouble and César Hernández hit a two-run homer, sending the Indians to a 3-2 win over the Cubs. Bieber struck out eight and has now fanned at least that many in 20 consecutive starts, extending his own major league record.
 
— The Rangers dropped a 4-2 decision to the Giants in San Francisco to fall to 0-5 in interleague play. Logan Webb tied a career high with 10 strikeouts over six innings to help the NL West leaders complete a two-game sweep.
 
— Patrick Mazeika got his second walk-off RBI in four career games with a fielder’s choice grounder in the ninth inning to lift the Mets to their sixth straight win, 3-2 versus the Orioles. Baltimore led 2-1 entering the ninth after John Means outdueled Marcus Stroman in his first start since throwing a no-hitter last week.
 
— Vladimir Guerrero homered and drove in three runs for the Blue Jays in a 5-3 verdict over the Braves. Guerrero had three hits, including a tying single in a three-run eighth.
 
— Bryce Harper treated heckling fans to a long home run in the first inning while setting the tone in the Phillies’ 6-2 downing of the Nationals in Washington. Andrew Knapp capped a three-run eighth with a two-run, bases-loaded single.
 
— Paul Goldschmidt and Tyler O’Neill homered off Brad Boxberger in the 11th inning to power the Cardinals to their fourth straight win, 6-1 against the Brewers. Goldschmidt provided the tiebreaking, two-run blast and O’Neill added a three-run shot in the Redbirds’ 10th win in 12 games, keeping them tied with San Francisco for the NL’s best record.
 
— Gavin Lux belted a dramatic three-run homer in the eighth inning to push the Dodgers past the Mariners, 6-4. Corey Seager had a two-run single in the seventh for the Dodgers, and Max Muncy hit an early homer after they fell behind, 4-1.
 
— Manny Machado homered and tripled to drive in five runs and highlight the Padres’ 8-1 assault on the Rockies. San Diego weathered the early departure of Wil Myers, who crashed into the right field wall in the first inning while catching Garrett Hampson’s deep fly ball.
 
— The Diamondbacks clobbered the Marlins, 11-3 as Madison Bumgarner threw seven shutout innings on just 84 pitches. Asdrúbal Cabrera had four hits, including a three-run homer that helped the Diamondbacks win their second straight since a six-game losing streak.
 
— Troy Stokes Jr. drove in runs with each of his first two major league hits as the Pirates beat the Reds for the first time in nine tries since last season, 7-2. JT Brubaker allowed one run on five hits to win for the first time in his last four starts.
