David Dillow, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at the age of 71. He was born on November 7, 1954, in Centralia, Illinois, the son of Dorris L. Dillow and Geraldine (Bean) Dillow.
David was a graduate from Centralia High School and he also earned his Engineering Degree from Southern Illinois University of Carbondale, which paved the way for his dedicated career in the railroad industry. He was known for his diligence and skill, contributing significantly to his field over the years. In his youth, David found joy in working on cars, a passion that captured his adventurous spirit and mechanical curiosity. Even as years passed, his love for watching basketball games and keen interest in the stock market remained steadfast. These pursuits kept his days full of excitement and engagement, allowing him to enjoy life to the fullest.
David was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Michael Dillow, whose memories he cherished. He is survived by his two sisters, Patricia Dillow and Kathy Tucker, as well as his brother-in-law Lee Tucker, all of Centralia. His legacy also lives on in his beloved niece, Allyna Tucker, his dear friend, Joyce Summers and the many friends he made throughout his life.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held in David’s honor on Monday, June 22, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the Hillcrest Lakeside Chapel in Centralia with Pastor Alan Nollman officiating, which will be followed by a burial alongside his parents at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
