Rayma J. Harris, age 82 of Carlyle, passed away at the Carlyle Healthcare and Senior Living Center on Thursday, June 4, 2026.

Rayma was born in Centralia, Illinois on August 22, 1943, a daughter of the late Raymond B. and Lois J. (Hall) Kueper.  She married Bob G. Harris at St. Mary’s Church in Carlyle on November 14, 1964, and he survives in Carlyle.

In addition to her husband Bob, Rayma is also survived by a son, Jody Harris and wife Lynnette of Carlyle; a daughter, Jennifer Harris of Carlyle; 2 grandchildren, Wil and Raelyn Harris; a sister, Jeanette Spaur of Carlyle; her in-laws, Bill (Brenda) Harris and Gloria (Denny) Williams; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Lois Kueper; a brother, Terry Kueper; and her mother-in-law, Fern Harris.

Rayma dedicated many years of service to the Clinton County Sheriff’s Department and was well known throughout the community for creating beautiful wedding cakes for countless couples for more than twenty years. She loved attending her grandchildren’s sporting events and activities, cheering them on with pride and enthusiasm. Rayma also enjoyed birdwatching and could often be found riding around town on her moped. Above all, she cherished her family and held a particularly special bond with her great nephew, Benjamin Tebbe.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Tina Wiegman and the dedicated team at Hospice of Southern Illinois for the compassionate and exceptional care they provided throughout Rayma’s journey. They would also like to thank the caring staff of Carlyle Healthcare and Senior Living for the friendship, dignity, and attentive care they showed Rayma and their family.

A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, June 12, 2026, at St. Mary’s Church in Carlyle.  Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
