A pair of southern Illinois teams punched their ticket to the 1a Softball State Final Four this weekend with Super Sectional wins yesterday. Okawville beat Triopia at Athens 4-3 and will advance to the Louisville Slugger Stadium in Peoria on Thursday to take on Dakota.
Waltonville will also be there as they won the SIU-Carbondale Super Sectional with a 5-1 win over Casey Westfield. They will play Gardner Wilmington in their semifinal.
Carterville is making their 3rd straight trip to the state tournament as they won their 2a Super Sectional at SIU over Red Bud 6-0. They will play in Peoria on Thursday afternoon against Williamsville.
Edwardsville fell to Lincoln-Way West at Illinois Wesleyan University 9-3 to end their season.
