John William Rogers, age 72, of Salem, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
John was born on September 12, 1953, in Salem, Illinois, the son of Thadeous and Charlotte (Gaston) Rogers.
John was a retired laborer who worked for Salem Township for many years. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and was especially fond of hunting, fishing, and golfing. He was also an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and rarely missed an opportunity to follow his favorite team. As a child, John attended Harvey’s Point Christian Church.
On January 13, 1984, John married Marianne (Fry) Rogers in Salem, Illinois. Together, they shared many cherished memories.
Survivors include his wife, Marianne Rogers of Salem; his son, Billy Rogers of Salem; his daughter, Rachel Rogers of Salem; two grandchildren, Johnathan Short of Salem and Dunkin Cripps of Salem; two brothers, Kenny Rogers and wife Vickie of Marion, Illinois, and Steve Rogers and wife Deborah of Ohio; along with several extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thadeous and Charlotte Rogers, and his sister, Gaye Soper.
