The Salem Wildcats fell at Mattoon yesterday 12-5.  Evan Barnes led the Cats with 3 hits.  The biggest blow of the game came in the second inning when the Green Wave scored 6 runs on 3 hits to take a 6-1 lead.  Owen Tennyson doubled going 2-4 with an RBI, Logan Butts went 2-3 with an RBI.  Carter Lowe, Aaden Rostance and Brendan Smith also drove in runs as Salem outhit Mattoon 12-8 but 4 errors cost them 3 runs.  The Cats are back at it today when they host Wesclin.

Also today, Mt Vernon hosts Nashville, Centralia is at Althoff and Christ Our Rock travels to Breese to play Mater Dei.

SC Falls To CHBC In Post Season Preview

The SC Cougars got a preview of their regional quarterfinal opponent coming up Monday when they hosted CHBC to Lions Field yesterday.  The Bobcats came away with an 8-3 victory.  Hudson Moore doubled and drove in a run scoring twice, Luke Shumate went 2-3, Garret Shumate had 2 hits and drove in a run and Aiden Hoover also had an RBI.  Garret Shumate started on the  mound with relief from Colton Tockstein and Ryker Dodson.
