The Lady Cats battled through rainy conditions and strong competition to bring home the tournament trophy, picking up two impressive victories—defeating Greenville 5-4 in Game 1 and topping Wesclin 11-5 in Game 2.

In the opener, Kenley Cripps delivered a strong start, pitching five innings, while Morgan Honerkamp earned the win after tossing the final three innings in relief. Offensively, Jaelyn Keller powered the Lady Cats with two home runs, including the go-ahead blast in extra innings. Isabella Decker and Alivia Rasul each added two hits, with Rasul driving in two runs.

In Game 2, Honerkamp picked up her second win of the day, working four innings, and Alli Patrick closed out the final three innings to earn the save. The Lady Cats’ bats stayed hot as Emily Jones went a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate, while Emma Lipe also collected three hits. Katee Sellers, Kendall Zimmermann and Alivia Rasul each recorded two hits, and Decker added another hit as well. Lipe drove in three runs, while Jones and Zimmermann each finished with two RBIs. Keller, Patrick and Sellers also contributed an RBI apiece.

The Lady Cats will be off until Monday, when they open postseason play at Breese against Breese.

Following the tournament, the team hosted a home run derby with proceeds benefiting the Emmanuel Equine Ministry. The derby winners were Kaiden Murray, future Lady Cat Sophia Decker, and Gavin Zimmermann.
