Cripps Leads Salem Past Mattoon
Kenley Cripps was great in the circle as Salem beat visiting Mattoon at Tully Park 2-0. She only needed 71 pitches for the complete game win. Cripps and Isabella Decker doubled, Alivia Rasul and Emma Lipe both had sacrifice fly’s to drive in Jaelyn Keller and Decker with their runs. The Lady Wildcats softball team is at Flora.
Annies Shutout Mt Vernon

Emrie Quick threw a shutout to lead Centralia past Mt Vernon 2-0 as the Annies hosted Senior Day. Josie Venturini gave them the lead in the bottom of the fourth on an RBI single. She also drove in the other Annies run going 2-3 on the day. Addisyn Dukes also had 2 hits. Taylor DeSmith struck out 7 and only walked 1 in the loss. Lexxi Howard and Elaina Schulte had a hit for Mt Vernon. The Annies are at Highland tomorrow.
OPS Routs Vandalia
Bella Pearce drove in 6 runs on four hits to lead the OPS Lady Eagles past Vandalia 19-9. Pearce doubled and tripled as part of her big day. OPS scored 10 runs on 8 hits in the 2nd inning to jump on top. Chelsey Haines was the winning pitcher striking out 11. Anabelle Garrett, Haines, Gwen Belcher, Kenzi Wilkerson and Abigail Draper had multiple hits.
Kleiboeker’s Big Day Helps CORLHS over McGivney
Leah Kleiboeker drove in 5 runs on 3 hits including two doubles and a triple as Christ Our Rock beat Father McGivney 13-3. Peyton Jett struck out 10 batters giving up just 4 hits and 2 runs. Leah Crompton and Jett each had multiple hits and the team took 12 walks for the game. Liv Torrence also tripled.
