Lady Cats Honor 3 Seniors, Fall To Olney
The Salem Lady Wildcats honored their 3 softball seniors and then lost to visiting Olney 10-0. Emma Lipe and Kenley Cripps had the Salem hits. Marah Johnson, Alivia Rasul and Jaelyn Keller were honored prior to the game, all 3 have signed to play college softball next year.
Thompson’s Big Day Lifts OPS
Bria Thompson drove in 5 runs on 3 hits to lead the OPS Lady Eagles past Cisne 21-4. Chelsey Haines allowed six hits and 2 earned runs in the complete game win. Anabelle Garrett, Thompson and Abigail Draper had 3 hits each. Bella Pearce had 2. OPS will play Webber today.
Pinckneyville Holds Off Lady Rams
Pinckneyville pulled out a 5-4 win over Mt Vernon. Lexxi Howard, Arwyn Wilkey, Alli Sweeten and Danicah Tobin each drove in a run. Tobin took the loss allowing 3 earned runs and 9 strikeouts giving the right hander 300 for her stellar career. Taylor DeSmith added a triple.
CORLHS Pounds Marquette
Christ Our Rock routed Marquette 17-7. The Lady Stallions led 8-7 heading into the top of the fifth when they scored 7 more runs to open the game up. Bailey Pingsterhaus drove in 3 runs going 2-4. Leah Crompton, Katie Oelze added 2 hits along with Pingsterhaus. Oelze allowed 3 hits and no earned over 3.2 with Peyton Jett throwing the final 2.1 innings for the save.
Annies Fall To Marion
Centralia came up short losing to Marion 6-1 in South 7 play. Marion scored 5 in the bottom of the second to take control. Mackenzie Perez went 2-3 at the plate and drove in a run. The Annies are at Murphysboro today.
