318 Centralia High School students were recognized with awards at this year’s Academic Pep Assembly hosted by the CHS Renaissance Committee.

This year’s special award winners were as follows:

Athlete of the Year: Kaylee Bowdler and Archie Goewey

Spirit Award: Audra Davis and Carson Edwards

Centralia Historical Museum: Sabrena Johnson

Principal’s Award: Mackenna Michael

DAR Award: Devin Meier

SAR Award: Aurora Amason

Four CHS Teachers and Faculty received a Making a Difference Award. They were: Business Teacher Mary Heltsley, Math Teacher Brittany Huff, Guidance Counselor Rebecca Brooks, and Family Consumer Science Teacher Shannon Shipley.

Aside from special awards, students were recognized by receiving one or more of the following awards (receiving a certificate and t-shirt):

Choice Award: Criteria include academic achievement, citizenship, school spirit, and attendance. Received through teacher nominations.

110% Award: Criteria include most improved, best attitude, and participation. This award is not measured by academic achievement. Rather, it is based on students putting forth true effort to do their individual best. Received through teacher nominations.

Scholar Athletes: Students who maintain academic excellence by making the first honor roll while participating in CHS athletics.

Scholar Performers: Students who maintain academic excellence by making the first honor roll while participating in art, band, chorus, dance team, and drama club.

AP Excellence:  Students who score a 3 or higher on the AP exam.
