The Mt Vernon Rams Ty Pierce hit a 3rd inning grand slam leading his team to a dominant 16-1 win at home over Flora. The Rams scored 12 runs in the third on their way to the win. Owen Bruke allowed just 1 hit and struck out 7 over 3 innings. Trevor McClure pitched in relief. Nolan Mast and Ryker Perigo had 2 hits each with Perigo also driving in 4 runs. The Rams host Father McGivney today.
Christ Our Rock split a pair of competitive games at Arsenal BG Ballpark, the home of the Gateway Grizzlies against Wesclin. Wesclin got a walk off single from Hays in the bottom of the 7th to win the opening game 8-7. Blake Hanke and Brayden Albert each had 2 Stallion hits. The Stallions took a 7-4 lead scoring 6 times on 7 hits in the top of the sixth. Wesclin waiting until the bottom of the seventh to score 3 runs and win the game. Garrett Denton had 2 RBI.
The Stallions turned the page in game 2 scoring breaking a 5-5 tie with 2 runs in the top of the 7th and won the game 7-5. Blake Hanke went 3-4, Colton Cartright had 2 hits and a run scored. Noah Kenley was the winning pitcher in relief. The Stallions will take on state ranked North Clay on Monday.
After having the weekend off, the Salem Wildcats baseball team will travel to Waltonville.
