Columbia No Hits Wildcats For Cahokia Win
Columbia scored 2 runs in the opening inning and never stopped scoring the rest of the 5-inning game as they beat Salem 15-1. Salem had no hits in the game, Kyler King drove in a run with a bases loaded walk.
Salem JV Loses Lead Late
The Salem JV saw a 6-2 fourth inning lead evaporate as they lost at Columbia 14-9. Jax Schaubert went 3-4 for the Wildcats and drove in 3 runs. Scout Puricelli, Bentley Bryan and Drake Rector had 2 hits each with Puricelli and Bryan adding doubles. Landon White was the starter, Puricelli took the loss in relief and Nicholi Marhanka also pitched.
Frankfort Walks Off On Mt Vernon
Hunter Gaither hit a walk-off sacrifice fly to lead Frankfort to a 5-4 win over Mt Vernon. Ty Pierce led the Rams with 2 hits. The Rams took a 4-2 lead after 4 innings, but the Redbirds put together a 3-run, seventh inning rally to earn the win. Maxwell Nowak, Eli Prost and Grant Holloway drove in Mt Vernon runs. Cale Maurer was the starter going 2 innings with Nowak working the final 4.2 taking the loss. The Rams are at home today against Flora.
SC Falls Late To Edwards County
The SC Cougars fell to Edwards County 6-2 in a tight game. The Cougars tied the game at 2 in the top of the sixth on a Garret Shumate bases loaded walk. The Lions would answer with 4 runs in the bottom of the inning including a Cash Conner home run. Luke Shumate led SC with 2 hits. Colton Tockstein took the loss going 5.2 allowing 5 earned runs on 3 hits.
