The Salem Wildcats baseball team will be at home this afternoon in Cahokia play when they host Columbia.
OPS Falls
Odin/Patoka/Sandoval fell to Red Hill 8-0. Beau Chapman, Blaize Murray and Hunter Thompson had hits for OPS.
NC Keeps Rolling
North Clay improved to 25-3 with an 8-6 win over St Anthony. Cayden Craig hit a solo homer. The Bulldogs led 6-4 after six innings, but the Cardinals would score 4 runs in the top of the inning to take the lead. Cooper Lewis hit a big 3-run double and Ian Jones added a sac fly. Cody Zimdars earned the win in relief going 2.2 for starter Trevan Sidwell.
Pierce’s Big Game Lifts Rams
Ty Pierce drove in 5 runs to help Mt Vernon beat Murphysboro 11-1 at the Cusumano Sports Complex including a grand slam in the fifth. Nolan Mast and Ryker Perigo had multiple hits for the Rams. Bronx Hefner was the winner allowing 2 hits and no earned runs with 7 strikeouts in 4 innings. The Centralia Orphans are scheduled to travel to Mt Vernon for the final time ever in South 7 play.
CORLHS Honors Seniors, Beat Elverado
Christ Our Rock beat Elverado as the Stallions honored their seniors and won 11-0. Brayden Albert struck out 10 on the mound in the win. He gave up just 2 hits in the five inning complete game. Colton Cartright went 3-3. Evan Beal and Blake Hanke added 2 RBI, Drew Lueking had 2 hits. The Stallions travel to Lebanon today.
Mater Dei Wins Again
Mater Dei made it 4 wins in 6 games as they short gamed Carlyle 10-0 in five innings. Ethan Wheelan threw a complete game 2-hitter. Adrian Rendon had 3 hits, including a double, with 2 RBI. Carter Spaeth had 3 hits and 2 RBI. Avery Strader also drove in 2 runs. Mater Dei hosts Waterloo today, Carlyle is at Wesclin.
