14u Wildcats 3-1 Over The Weekend
The Salem 14u went 3-1 over the weekend in tournament play. They opened Friday with a 10-5 comeback win over the Midwest Dodgers as they Cats trailed by as many as 5 runs. Devan Jennings drove in a Salem run long with Hunter Hyde, Eli Purdy, Ben Lux, Tanner Purintan, Dakota Gregg.
Salem then beat the Illinois Swing 9-8. Purdy Homered in the win. Salem trailed until the 7th when they scored 5 times to take the lead including a 2-run single by Jennings to give them the lead.
On Sunday they opened with a 15-1 win over the RBC Cope. Purdy had 2 hits.
Salem’s tournament ended falling to the St Louis Naturals 3-2. Purdy led Salem with 2 hits.
Wildcats 13u Splits Round Robin DH
The Salem 13u split their round robin with Jasper County and Casey. They almost erased a 3 run last inning deficit falling to Jasper County 5-4. Kaden Williams had 3 hits. Isaac Knapp and Jacob Butts 2 each with Butts driving in 2.
Salem bounced back beating Casey 14-2. Ethan Parrett had 2 hits including a double and 2 RBI. Holsapple, Butts and Brantley Brumfield had multiple RBI. Nolan Krutsinger and Kaden Williams combined to strikeout 8 on the mound.
12u Lady Cats 2nd In Tournament Play
12u SB: The Salem 12u Lady Wildcats were 2nd at the Salem Softball Tournament. Salem went 2-1 on Saturday including beating St Anthony 11-3, Clinton County Belles 12-0 and losing to Cumberland 8-6. On Sunday, they opened with a 9-0 win over the Dieterich Crush. Then beat the Lady Raptors in the semifinal 3-2. They fell in the championship on a walk-off hit to Cumberland 9-8.
Storm 11u 1-2 Over The Weekend
The 11u Storm went 1-2 over the weekend. They beat the Teutopolis Twisters 16-0 on Saturday. They lost to the Eagles Elite 7-5 as the game was tied at five in the top of the 4th before the Eagles would take the lead. On Sunday they lost their opener to the SI Rush 5-4 in walk-off fashion.
Salem 10u Sweeps Barn Owls
The Salem 10u Wildcats went 2-0 sweeping the Barn Owls over the weekend. They won 14-2 and 16-5 in dominant fashion.
