Keller’s 7th Inning HR Gives Salem Win at Roxana
The Salem Lady Wildcats knocked off Roxana on the road 7-6 in a thriller. Kenley Cripps was the starter in the circle with Alli Patrick following her and then Morgan Honerkamp would get the win. Katee Sellers had 3 hits. Jaelyn Keller and Isabella Decker had 2 hits each, Kellers were both home runs including a 3-run shot in the 7th to give Salem the lead. Decker also hit a 3-run homer. Marah Johnson and Emily Jones had hits.
Annies Keep Rolling
Centralia improved to 14-2 as they beat Marion 8-2. Emrie Quick was dominant striking out 10 giving up 4 hits and 2 runs. Josei Venturini had 4 hits for the Annies including a home run and double. Addisyn Dukes, Rorie Lambert and Mackenzie Perez had multiple hits for Centralia who will travel for a showdown in Mt Vernon on Tuesday. The Annies will travel to Flora.
Defense Dooms SC
South Central couldn’t overcome 7 errors as they fell to Cumberland 12-2. SC pitching gave up just 6 earned runs. Perci Reid and Emily Rose drove in SC runs. They had singles along with Kinlee Thompson and Lauren Johnson.
OPS Falls To Red Hill
The OPS Lady Eagles couldn’t keep up in a 15-5 loss to Red Hill. Kenzi Wilkerson homered for OPS. Anabelle Garrett, Bella Pearce, Wilkerson and Abigail Draper had 2 hits each. Draper joined Wilkerson with driving in 2 runs.
Lady Rams Dominate Cahokia In DH Sweep
The Mt Vernon Lady Rams dominated a double header with Cahokia winning 25-0 and 21-0. In the opening game, Arwyn Wilkey drove in 4 runs on 3 hits. The Lady Rams had 21 hits. Taylor DeSmith drove in 5 runs going 3-5. Also with 3 hits were Lexxi Howard, Paige Watson, Wilkey and Allie Sweeten had 3 hits each. Danicah Tobin added 2. Ariannah Burzynski was the winning pitcher allowing 2 hits and no runs.
In the second game, DeSmith had 3 hits including an inside the park home run as the Lady Rams scored 14 in the first inning. She was also the winning pitcher working along with Sweeten for the victory. DeSmith threw an immaculate inning striking out the side in the 3rd on 9 pitches. Tobin went 4-4 with Burzynski, Howard and Elaina Schulte with multi-hit games.
