The Salem Lady Wildcats Track and Field Team competed at the Mattoon Invitational on Tuesday. In field events, Freshman Emily Parrett earned first place in the Shot Put with a throw of 35’10”. She also earned a third-place finish in the Discus with a throw of 101’1”. Emily Runyon cleared 7’6” in the Pole Vault to finish in fifth place.
In running events, Carly Veach finished third in both the 100 Meter Hurdles (16.86) and 300 Meter Hurdles (48.90). The 4X100 Relay team of Kinsey Jarrett, Kayleigh Jarrett, Eniya Jones, and Carly Veach finished in sixth place with a time of 52.92.
The 4X200 Relay team of Kayleigh Jarrett, Nola Allison, Jazmin Guzman, and Eniya Jones set a PR by knocking off four seconds from their previous season best.
The Lady Wildcats will compete again on Friday at the Buzz Bradley Invitational in Sparta.
