Bats were blistered as Salem Wildcats 14U bested Effingham Heaters 14U 13-10 on Saturday. Salem Wildcats 14U collected seven hits, while Effingham Heaters 14U had 10.

 

Salem Wildcats 14U jumped out to the lead in the top of the third inning after Ben Lux doubled, scoring two runs, an error scored two runs, and a steal of home scored one run.

 

Effingham Heaters 14U scored five runs on two hits in the bottom of the fifth inning. Calvin Beck singled, scoring one run, Eli Bales drew a walk, scoring one run, Roman Martin drew a walk, scoring one run, and Kolton McLaren doubled, scoring two runs.

 

Salem Wildcats 14U flipped the game on its head in the top of the sixth, scoring five runs on three hits to take the lead, 13-8. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Vince Krajefska that drove in two.

 

Hunter Hyde earned the win for Salem Wildcats 14U.
