Salem 13U Wildcats dropped a pair against Vandalia. In game one, Vandalia came back and scored 5 runs in the last inning to walk it off 10-9. Isaac Knapp led the offense with 3 hits including a leadoff home run and a double. Zach Jones had 2 hits including a double while Nolan Krutsinger had a2 run single. Also contributing offensively were Kaden Williams with an rbi double, Brantley Brumfield an rbi single while Izac Holsapple, Ethan Parrett, and Weston Crouse each had a hit. Krutsinger started on the mound and went 3 innings with only 1 earned run and 4 strikeouts. Knapp and Brumfield pitched the last 3 innings.
In game 2, the Wildcats dropped a tough one 15-2. Zach Jones had a 2 run double while Parrett also doubled. Jacob Butts, Maxsen Tiemann, Jones and Crouse each threw in game 2.
Salem 13U Wildcats split a doubleheader on Sunday against the Midwest Iron Lions. The Wildcats won a tight one in game 1, 5-4. Isaac Knapp led the offensive attack with 2 hits including a double. Kaden Williams had a two run double, while Nolan Krutsinger and Ethan Parrett each had rbi singles. Zach Jones, Maxsen Tiemann, and Maddox Lograsso also had hits. Williams and Weston Crouse combined on the mound allowing only 3 hits with 8 strikeouts.
The Wildcats dropped a slugfest in game 2, 11-7. Krutsinger and Jacob Butts each had 2 hits including a double with Butts having 3 rbis. Knapp and Crouse also doubled while Williams, Parrett, and Lograsso each had singles. On the mound, Izac Holsapple and Jones allowed 5 earned runs with 2 strikeouts.
The Wildcats will play next weekend in the Chesterfield, MO Spring Bling.
