It came down to the wire on Tuesday, as Christ Our Rock Lutheran Varsity Stallions grabbed the victory in walk-off fashion, 2-1, over Metro-East Lutheran. Christ Our Rock Lutheran Varsity Stallions were down 1-0 in the bottom of the eighth inning when Drew Lueking singled, scoring two runs.

Both teams were strong on the hill. Christ Our Rock Lutheran Varsity Stallions pitchers struck out 10, while Metro-East Lutheran sat down seven.

Metro-East Lutheran opened the scoring in the eighth after C. Frey singled, scoring one run.

Colton Cartright stepped on the mound first for Christ Our Rock Lutheran Varsity Stallions. The pitcher gave up five hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out eight and walking three. Drake Luebbert stepped on the mound first for Metro-East Lutheran. The starting pitcher allowed five hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out seven and walking one. Lueking appeared in relief for Christ Our Rock Lutheran Varsity Stallions.

Brayden Albert, Cartright, and Lueking each collected two hits for Christ Our Rock Lutheran Varsity Stallions. Lueking led Christ Our Rock Lutheran Varsity Stallions with two runs batted in. The right fielder went 2-for-4 on the day. Christ Our Rock Lutheran Varsity Stallions turned one double play in the game. Christ Our Rock Lutheran Varsity Stallions were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Evan Beal had the most chances in the field with 12.

Huber and M. Barber were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Metro-East Lutheran. Frey went 1-for-3 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Metro-East Lutheran worked the count all day, accumulating six walks.
