The Salem Wildcat’s effort to come back from down 4 runs in the 7th inning came up just short, as they fell 5-4 to St Anthony on Monday.
Salem scored first in the bottom of the 2nd on a Keytin Grawe double. St Anthony would answer right back in the top of the 3rd scoring 3 times. Rogan Allen and Will Bierman singled along with Quentin Stephens with all three hits scoring a run.
Brody Collier took the loss going 5 innings, allowing four runs on 7 hits with 6 strikeouts. At the plate, Luke Boldt drove in 2 runs with a hit. Grawe had 2 hits in 3 at bats.
Allen and Beirman paced St Anthony with 2 hits each.
Salem falls to 0-8 on the season and travels to state ranked Effingham Tuesday to play the Hearts.
