They beat the Cavaliers of LaSalle/Peru 12-0. Cayden Craig had 3 hits to lead the Cardinals. NC scored 8 times in the 4th inning. Collin Schnepper singled, scoring two runs, Cooper Lewis singled, scoring one, Cody Zimdars singled scoring two runs, Trenton Ingram drew a bases loaded walk and Carder Walden doubled home two.
Jack Compton was the winning pitcher giving up one hit in five innings with 7 strikeouts and no walks.
Craig and Walden had 3 hits for North Clay with Walden driving in 3 runs.
The Cards then beat Civic Memorial 6-2. Jack Compton had 3 hits in the win.NC took the lead in the top of the first and then a single by Ian Jones in the 2nd made it 3-1. NC added to their lead in the 3rd inning when Trevan Sidwell doubled home two runs and Compton added an RBI single.
Talon Hemphill was the winning pitcher. The reliever allowed two hits and no runs over 3.1 innings. Walden was the starter going 2.2 giving up no hits and 2 runs. Cody Zimdars and Jones threw shutout innings for NC. Sidwell had 3 RBI in the game.
NC will travel to Neoga on Monday.
